277th Corps Commanders Conference Warns of Decisive Action Against Violent Chaos

Any Attempt to Spark Violent Chaos or May 9-Style Unrest Will Be Handled with Decisive Force, Warns Corps Commanders Conference

RAWALPINDI: The 277th Corps Commanders Conference, presided by Chief of Army & Chief of Defense Forces Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, has issued a clear stern warning that any act that instigates violent anarchy or violent activities like of May 9 will be dealt with with unsparing and decisive state force.

High level military leadership met in Rawalpindi on October 2, starting with special prayers and tributes to the supreme sacrifices made by the Armed Forces, Police and innocent citizens in defence of the motherland, said Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).

The 277th Corps Commanders Conference will feature the following key highlights:
Rejection of May 9-Style Violence: The forum announced that internal stability is considered as a prerequisite for Pakistan and condemned violent protest or destabilising activities under any pretext and vowed to take stern and prompt steps in this regard through the might of the law.

The conference reiterated that TCOs against threats emanating from the soil of Afghanistan are Pakistan’s legitimate right of self defence and the Taliban leadership are fully liable for sponsoring terrorist proxies and the consequences of it.

Governance and Intelligence-Based Strategies: The forum highlighted the need of kinetic military operations along with structural reforms in governance at the grassroots level, as well as the need to break the links between the terrorist organizations and the criminal elements and develop the capacity of the police through the process of intelligence and to find the root cause of terrorism through effective public communication.
