Intense Clashes Between Houthis and Government Forces in Yemen Leave 129 Dead

SANAA : In bloody and extended skirmishes in multiple active battlegrounds, at least 129 people have lost their lives between Houthis and the Yemeni government forces.

The heavy fighting erupted after a big advance on the ground by the Houthis (Ansar Allah) movement in the vicinity of coastal areas, according to reports from Arab and international media quoting military and medical sources.

Military sources said that the Houthis used sophisticated aerial techniques, striking government targets with multiple drones and missiles. The escalation is related to strategic progress towards the Bab al-Mandab Strait, and west of Taiz province.

Casualty figures from several military and medical sources came in to show that the death toll had risen to 129 as fighting raged on several fronts. The continuing violence has also wounded many combatants and civilians, prompting fears of an escalation of large-scale war.
