Economic Coordination Committee Approves Export of Sugar

ISLAMABAD: The Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) has sanctioned 108,000 metric tons of sugar from the Trading Corporation of Pakistan (TCP) to be exported. A decision on sugar export was taken during an ECC meeting presided by the Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb.

Amidst the meeting, it was agreed that an international tender will be floated in the international market for export of sugar, sources said.

International tender under PPRA Rules
However, it is also noted at the ECC meeting that the export of sugar will also be undertaken through international tendering, according to the Public Procurement Regulatory Authority (PPRA) rules.
