Bilawal Bhutto Meets Opposition Leaders, Discusses Parliamentary Affairs and National Politics

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and National Assembly Opposition Leader Mahmood Khan Achakzai met in the opposition chamber of the National Assembly, along with Senate Opposition Leader Allama Raja Nasir Abbas.

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Secretary General Salman Akram Raja, Secretary General Tehreek Tahaffuz-e-Aaeen-e-Pakistan (TTP) Asad Qaiser and Vice Chairman Mustafa Nawaz Khokhar of Tehreek Tahaffuz-e-Aaeen-e-Pakistan (TTP) participated in the meeting. Also present were the PTI Chief Whip in the National Assembly Malik Aamir Dogar, National Assembly member Adil Bazai and the spokesperson of Tehreek Tahaffuz-e-Aaeen-e-Pakistan Akhonzada Hussain. Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari attended the event along with Naveed Qamar, Nadeem Afzal Chan, Sherry Rehman and Raja Pervaiz Ashraf.

The Parliamentary Roles and Electoral Reforms topic was discussed.
Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari met with opposition leaders in the parliament and discussed the issues related to parliamentary affairs and national politics. Bilawal Bhutto Zardari asked the leaders of opposition in parliament to participate in parliamentary committees and involve themselves actively. Opposition leaders promised to make a decision after talking to PTI chairman while PPP and opposition leaders agreed to improve communication on legislations in parliament.

Comprising the opposition leaders, Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari appealed to them to perform their duties in parliament over electoral reforms for transparency in the elections. The PTI’s founder’s transfer to the hospital for medical treatment in response to Supreme Court’s verdict, Bilawal called it a “healthy democratic tradition”.
