No Contact with the US: Iranian IRGC Rebuts Trump’s Claims
TEHRAN: Brigadier General Hossein Mohebbi, Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) spokesperson, has denied that direct, backchannel talks have taken place between Washington and Iran’s IRGC.
An Iranian media outlet quoting the IRGC spokesperson said there’s no discussion or negotiation going on between Iranian officials and their American counterparts. Trump’s claims are completely unfounded and the result of “illusions and nightmares” in the conflict, he said.
Keep Energy Prices Down and Concede Victory
President Barack Obama is trying to temporarily quell the oil and energy price turmoil with his rhetoric, said Brigadier General Hossein Mohebbi. Trump’s attempt to make it look as if the Americans and Iranian leaders were in touch is in an effort to affect the current military and economic circumstances, he said.
The Iranian spokesman told the US President that there can be only one way for him: to lose and accept Iran’s conditions.

In the meantime, the US president, Donald Trump, said in an interview with the media that his government initially had direct contact with the IRGC and would not be rushing to end the war with Iran.
The Iranian IRGC’s response to US President Obama’s assertions reflects the animosity between the two countries.
