Disruption to Export Shipments is Not in National Interest: Ahsan Iqbal Urges Transporters to End Strike
ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Planning, Development and Special Initiatives Ahsan Iqbal has called upon goods transporters to put an end to the on-going strike and settle their grievances by engaging in dialogue.
In a message sent on social media, Ahsan Iqbal addressed the transporters and respectfully requested them to withdraw strike and start negotiations as strikes are not a constructive way to solve issues.

Pakistan is facing the greatest challenge at present to increase exports and creating disruptions in export logistics is not in the country’s interest, Afsan Iqbal said.
Whatever its demands may be, the transporters should refrain from means that may affect national export, Federal Minister said. He shared that one exporter said that export orders valued around one million dollars are facing risk under strike and threatened to suffer heavy financial losses for domestic exporters.
Iqbal pointed out that exports are still a national priority and an economic emergency and any challenge in the export supply chain is against national interest.
The Federal Minister appealed to transporters to immediately halt the strike and “go the conversation way” because export work should not be affected.
