US Decides to Recall Aircraft Carrier USS Abraham Lincoln After Mission Completion
WASHINGTON: The U.S. has called for the aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln to return home after completing its mission.
The US Navy states that the USS Abraham Lincoln achieved its mission, and will return to the United States as part of pre-planned operational rotations. As the vessel was deployed, some mental health issues were addressed, but there were no fatalities or casualties on board, the US Secretary of the Navy said. US authorities reiterated that the company’s departure is taking place as planned.
The ship, the USS Abraham Lincoln, was to leave California last year for the South China Sea. But prior to the US and Israeli attack on Iran in February 2026, the carrier switched to the Middle East. The first deployment in the region was expected to end in May 2026, but was extended several times because of changing regional dynamics.
