The ICC Men’s ODI World Cup 2027 will be a bigger tournament with 14 teams taking part for the first time in the World Cup.
South Africa and Zimbabwe have already been automatically qualified as co-hosts because of hosting rights. The top eight teams in the ICC ODI rankings have secured their places in the final eight without needing to go through the playoffs with the September 30 ranking cutoff fast approaching. After a solid match in Belfast against Ireland, Afghanistan qualified. The final team has been announced with defending champions Australia and India, New Zealand, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, England, Bangladesh and Afghanistan confirming their direct entries while co-hosts South Africa and Zimbabwe are also in the mix.
