Infiltration From Afghanistan Will Be Completely Eradicated; Kabul Must Fulfill Its Responsibilities Instead of Engaging in Blame Shifting, States Federal Minister Dr. Tariq Fazal Chaudhry

ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Dr. Tariq Fazal Chaudhry has pointed out to the Afghan authorities that the latter should refrain from making baseless allegations against Pakistan and instead move forward and achieve its primary security obligations.

Dr. Tariq Fazal Chaudhry, commenting on the same issue in the media in Islamabad, said that such allegations by the Afghan side have no basis. He said that if Afghan soil is used for cross-border terrorism against Pakistan, Islamabad has absolute right to take all measures necessary to protect its sovereignty and citizens and urged total elimination of the terrorist sanctuaries and infiltration from Afghanistan.

Dr. Tariq Fazal Chaudhry’s Press Talk along with the Ministry of Information Response were highlighted as follows:
Dr. Tariq Fazal Chaudhry pointed out that Pakistan has always been presenting to Afghan representatives concrete, irrefutable evidence of infiltration from the other side during the talks held in Istanbul and Doha. He said Afghan representatives have not provided any answers or justification over infiltration of terrorism from Afghanistan, but in spite of ongoing diplomatic attempts, the interim Afghan government has not taken any meaningful steps to curb infiltration.

Preparedness of Pakistan’s Armed Forces: Reaffirming Pakistan’s stance on regional peace, the Federal Minister said Islamabad always called for peace but when aggression is forced on Pakistan the answer is always a crushing blow. He restated the armed forces are ‘at full readiness at all times’ to prevent any aggression.

Ministry of Information Statement: In a related development, the Ministry of Information revealed that the people of Islamabad have given grave consideration to the recent statements made by the Afghan Taliban regime. Kabul has shifted blame on Pakistan, which the ministry underlined is not a solution to address Pakistan’s legitimate security concerns, but a tactic that can never remove the responsibility from the Taliban regime to prevent the use of Afghan soil against Pakistan. Moreover, the official statement pointed out, Pakistan’s concerns were based on concrete reports by the official United Nations and US reports documenting the presence of terrorist groups in Afghanistan and the Afghan Taliban’s tolerance of groups such as Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) operating freely there.
