Two LPG-Laden Ships Arrive in Pakistan Carrying Over 7,600 Metric Tons; Prices Expected to Decrease From Tomorrow Amid Improving Supply
KARACHI : The good news for the consumers is that positive developments have been made in the field of Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) so that two new commercial ships carrying fresh consignment of LPG from Oman are safely docked in Pakistan and the prospect of a fresh reduction in LPG prices seems bright from tomorrow.
A total cargo of 7,603 metric tonnes of LPG was carried on board the two vessels at Port Qasim, market sources said. The ship Prianis was able to offload 4,250 metric tons at the Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) terminal; and the ship Alyssa-1 offloaded 3,083 metric tons at Engro terminal.
The key highlights of LPG ship arrivals and market price outlook are as follows:
Domestic stocks were increased by a successful clearance and discharge of bulk cargo by over 7,600 metric tons at the Karachi terminals at Fresh Cargo Offloaded at Port Qasim.
Stalled supplies of LPG via the Iranian border by land routes also are expected to resume from the same sources as expected from tomorrow, further bolstering supplies.
Market experts say LPG prices will now start to decline significantly from tomorrow as domestic stock replenishment and opening of regional transport routes have been expected.
