Dengue Larvae Recovered From Lahore Railway Workshop; Punjab Health Minister Khawaja Imran Nazir Orders Immediate FIRs Against Responsible Officials

LAHORE: Punjab Health and Population Minister Khawaja Imran Nazir has voiced his strong dismay after finding dengue larvae in a railway workshop in Lahore, demanding the registration of First Information Reports (FIRs) against the irresponsible officials.

Deputy Minister Khawaja Imran Nazir led a surprise inspection tour in different sections of Lahore in association with teams monitoring the spread of the disease and personally carried out raids on railway warehouses and workshops. The provincial minister, expressing a strict stand on accountability, said that this would be a collective responsibility of anti-dengue operations, saying that the government officers cannot be treated as “sacred cows” if businessmen and common citizens can be booked in FIRs for violation.
