PTI Had Plans for Complete Bloodshed, Forcing Imposition of Emergency in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa; Governor’s Rule Will Yield Positive Results, States Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif

ISLAMABAD: Government has imposed state of emergency and Governor’s Rule in KP out of its own necessity as the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Inscription (PTI) leadership had pre-planned for complete bloodshed during their supposed long march, says Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.

In Gujranwala, Prime Minister Sharif told media that several meetings were held with ex-CM where the critical provincial security scenario was discussed and a call was made to jointly fight against terrorism, assuring the province to provide all financial resources needed for this purpose.

Talk by the Prime Minister on key points of the Press talk.
The Prime Minister claimed that the long march call had been withdrawn after day and night discussions and drafts were completed by a special committee but intelligence that this time a “sinister conspiracy to massacre the people of the province” had been drawn up. He said that “to stand by silent witnesses” would have been to be a failure to the future generations.

Economic Relief and Regional Challenges: Outlining the national economic strides, Sharif indicated that the economy is now slowly recovering towards growth and more than 12 million people are currently enjoying economic benefits due to fuel subsidies. The fallout of the conflict affecting the Gulf has created regional inflation storms which call for decisive State action, he added.

Outlook on Governor’s Rule in KP: Prime Minister Sharif stated that the committee set up for KP is composed of non-political members while he assured that he would soon visit KP, and he has complete faith that Governor’s Rule will give good results in the province to restore security and order.
