ISLAMABAD:In a disturbing development in the case of tragic suicide of gold medal-winning student Laiba Aijaz at Islamabad, the main accused Nauman has finally appeared to confess in police questioning to committing fraud.
Authorities investigating the case have turned over the accused’s mobile phone for a detailed forensic examination that will uncover more information. Ramna Police Station has lodged an FIR against the accused on the victim’s grieving father’s complaint.

Modus Operandi and Fake Documents: Police confirmed that Laiba Aijaz was linked to the suspect Nauman via a woman named Aiza, who has a brother in the USA. The accused were allegedly giving a fake university admission letter and fake visa documents for a foreign university to Laiba.
The tragic financial and emotional cost: Investigations showed that Laiba’s father had sold their land and pawned away gold jewellery to finance hundreds of thousands of rupees for her outstation education to the suspect. Upon finally consensualizing the admission letter to be an outright hoax, the gold medal student was very distressed and sadly, committed suicide.
Continued police investigations: The police have put the suspect into formal custody and are continuing to field wide-ranging investigations for other individuals that may have been involved in the network.
