Yemeni Security Forces Take Control of Bab el-Mandeb and Dhubab Airport; Hundreds of Houthi Fighters Reported Besieged
SANAA: In a big military escalation, the security forces in Yemen have been able to take full control of the strategic port of Bab el-Mandeb and the airport in Dhubab.The government forces, under a new large-scale operation dubbed “Operation Dawn of Yemen,” have made a rapid progress to control important coastal posts and vital infrastructure from the control of Houthis, according to military sources.
Key Chokepoints secured: Government forces, supported by allied brigades, managed to secure the entire control of Dhubab airport and other strategic sectors that face the Bab el-Mandeb Strait.
Supply Lines Severed: Government forces have cut off the main land corridor between Dhubab and Al-Mokha, government officials confirmed, thus cutting off vital supply and reinforcement routes for the militia.The nationwide offensive is gradually moving forward, and as of now, hundreds of Houthis are believed to be surrounded in the Dhubab region, as the military authorities have called for them to surrender.
