Makkah Alliance Strategic Committee Meeting in Riyadh Today

Strategic Committee Meeting of the Makkah Alliance to Be Held in Riyadh Today; Top Civil and Military Leadership from Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, and Türkiye to Attend

RIYADH: The top-level meeting of the Strategic, Political and Defense Committee, under the Makkah Joint Defense Agreement, will also take place today in the Saudi capital Riyadh.

In addition to the Saudi and Türkiye’s senior civil and military leadership, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar and Chief of Defense Forces Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir will be the Pakistani representatives at the crucial meeting. Deputy PM Dar has been already in Riyadh to join the discussions.

The following are some key points from the Strategic Committee Meeting:
The meeting will be attended by the foreign ministers, defense ministers and chiefs of general staff of Saudi Arabia, Türkiye and Pakistan, highlighting the strong tripartite defence coordination.

Review of Regional Security and Houthi Attacks: Participants will review the current security situation in the Middle East in detail, recent Houthis aerial threats and attacks against Saudi Arabia, and overall regional stability.

Implementation of the Makkah Defense Pact: Discussions will be centered around the furtherance of cooperation in the framework of the Joint Defense Pact of Makkah, finalization of institutional format, and formulation of future joint defense strategies.

Spiritual Visit Prior to Summit: Deputy PM Ishaq Dar had visited Madina Munawwara, made the visit to Roza-e-Rasool (PBUH) and paid homage at the graves of martyrs of Uhud and offered special prayers for Pakistan’s prosperity, regional peace, and unity of Muslim Ummah in Riyadh.
