Federal Government Warns of Immediate Constitutional Action Against KP Administration Amid Impending Long March Tensions
ISLAMABAD: In response, the federal government has taken a strong stance saying that if the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government resorts to any form of confrontation or to any aggressive long march attitude, the government will respond to it immediately through constitutional and legal methods.
The decisions were reached in a meeting of top security officials in Islamabad led by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif to discuss the changing security situation and political disputes over the opposition’s planned capital protests.

Security and Backchannel Briefings: The Federal Interior Minister briefed the Prime Minister on the security situation in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and also provided an update on the status of backchannel with Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).
Legal advisors and Minister for Law gave a presentation on the options available as far as administration and the constitution is concerned to address the administrative deadlock. The forum was also briefed by political figures such as Rana Sanaullah and Amir Muqam on the formation of coalitions and politics in the provinces.
Province Leadership warned: A clear message has been sent to the provincial setup, urging it to take a fresh look at its strategy or else it faces severe repercussions. Power on politics and administration of the province has basically been also transferred to federal executive leaders.
National Security Priority: Prime Minister Shehbaz said that protection of state borders and maintenance of public order will remain first priority and all the required resources will be deployed to stabilise Khyber Pakhtunkhwa region.
