Government Decides to Convene National Assembly Session on October 1; Potential Meeting Between Prime Minister and Opposition Leader on the Cards
ISLAMABAD: The Federal Government has decided on the National Assembly to be summoned on October 1 of this year, with a duration of 14 days, to start its new session.
It was the necessary consultation with coalition partners that led to the schedule for calling the session to be finalized according to the details. The formal programme which will outline the daily business of the house will be published later, but political sources predict that there may be a meeting between the Prime Minister and the Leader of the Opposition in the midst of the session.
The legislative agenda and key discussions will be released soon.
Several bills of legislation, committee reports, presidential ordinances and important official documents will be officially introduced in the house in the course of the proceedings, official authorities have indicated.
