Government Not Opposed to Dialogue, But Opposition Must Show Seriousness, Stresses Federal Law Minister Azam Nazeer Tarar
Federal Minister for Law and Justice Azam Nazeer Tarar has said that the government has provided opportunities for dialogue with Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) on several occasions but the substantive dialogue has been hampered and the opposition should show genuine seriousness for any dialogue.
When speaking to media representatives in the federal capital, the Law Minister highlighted that ensuring the safety and security of the city of Islamabad while preventing unauthorised marchers from coming here is an important constitutional responsibility of the government.

Matters of the Court: Tarar said that the main issue is around the release of Imran Khan and it was a matter of the judiciary, not the executive. He pointed out that medical examinations and health care measures specified by the Supreme Court were properly supported by the government.
PTI’s approach to politics: Tarar pointed to the disruption in May 2022 and November 2024 to illustrate PTI’s historical pattern of protests, and said it speaks volumes about their political approach. He called for public order and governance not to be undermined through gunpoint.
Enforcing the Constitutional Bounds: The minister of Law reiterated that the country operates within the frame of the Constitution and pointed out that the goals of politics cannot be attained with force or coercion.
