Only the Strait of Hormuz Issue Is on the Negotiating Table Right Now, Says Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi
NEW YORK: Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has said that the current diplomatic talks are limited to the Strait of Hormuz issue and Iran’s stance on the issue of its nuclear programme has not changed in any manner.
Araghchi, in a recent media statement, said: “Iran is totally ready for any military scenario, but diplomacy is still a great leverage, and the order for reopening the vital waterway can only be executed after fulfilling the conditions set out by the Supreme Leader.
Awaiting US Response: Emphasizing that diplomatic talks are still underway, Araghchi added that talks are being held with the U.S. through the regional mediation channels organized by Qatar and Pakistan. He said he has received a formal response from the American side which is now more serious, and had hoped for an answer from the White House.
