OGDCL Launches Second All-Female Management Trainee Officers Program 2026-27 to Foster Women’s Inclusion in Energy Sector
Islamabad : At a ceremony held at OGDCL’s Oil and Gas Training Institute in Islamabad, 52 female graduates from various educational institutions across the country were welcomed into the Management Trainee Officers Program. Welcoming the new trainee officers, OGDCL MD/CEO Ahmed Hayat Lak stated that the organization wants to promote an increase in women’s representation on a sustainable basis.
He shared that OGDCL has set a target to double its production over the next three years, while the company is also taking steps to improve production from existing assets and reduce import dependence.
The 52-week training program includes classroom learning, practical training, field visits, placements in various departments, and mentorship. According to OGDCL Executive Director Human Resources Shehzad Safdar, a more comprehensive training program has been designed for the second batch in light of the experiences from the first program.
In July 2025, OGDCL inducted its first-ever all-female management trainee batch consisting of 36 women. According to the organization, the program aims to equip young women with the essential knowledge, skills, and practical experience for a successful professional career in Pakistan’s energy sector.
