Gold Prices Witness Sharp Decline Across Pakistan

Major Drop in Gold Prices Across Pakistan as Per Tola Rate Decreases by Rs1,800

KARACHI : For the third day in a row of the business week, bullion market in Pakistan saw a strong decline in the prices of gold coins, with domestic gold prices taking a significant hit after the decrease in global bullion markets.

The rate of 24 karat gold per tola fell by Rs1,800 to Rs453,936, according to data released by official body All Pakistan Gems and Jewellers Association (APGJSA).

Likewise, the rate of 10 gram 24 karat gold fell by Rs1,544 to Rs389,176. Silver prices in the domestic bullion market also corrected to the downside with the price per tola dropping Rs30 to Rs7,008.

Internationally, spot prices of gold fell $18, to $4,314 an ounce, directly impacting local market price changes.
