Pakistan Stands Shoulder to Shoulder with Saudi Arabia to Protect Sovereignty and Holy Sites, Declares Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif
ISLAMABAD : Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif extended heartfelt greetings to Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman and the brotherly people of Saudi Arabia on the occasion of the Kingdom’s National Day. In his special national day message, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif reiterated the unbreakable determination to enhance bilateral friendship and strategic cooperation between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia; the Kingdom’s astounding transformation and progress was Pakistan’s reason for great pride.
Historic Brotherhood and Defense Accords: The Prime Minister highlighted that the historical relations of Islamabad with Riyadh have strong religious, trustful and long-standing people-to-people dimensions. He pointed out that the two countries have started institutionalizing their historic security cooperation through signing of a bilateral mutual defense pact along with the landmark Makkah Joint Defense Pact, establishing a strong framework for bilateral security cooperation of the two countries.
The PM Shehbaz Sharif strongly condemned recent aggressive actions and declared his strong opposition to the Houthis’ attacks on the Kingdom in particular and on Saudi Arabia in general, including the abominable attempted drone attack on Makkah.
The Prime Minister said that any violation of the sanctity and security of the Two Holy Mosques” hurts the feelings of all Muslims in the world.
He reiterated his firm stance of Pakistan standing unconditionally, shoulder to shoulder with Saudi Arabia, for the protection of its territorial integrity, national sovereignty and the highest sanctity of the holiest places of Islam.
