Pakistani Air Defense Successfully Intercepts and Shoots Down 8 Drones Crossing into Airspace from Afghanistan
RAWALPINDI : Eight drones were fired from the Afghan side and after entering the Pakistani airspace the active and responsive Pakistan air defence system has managed to intercept and neutralize all of them early this morning.
Four drones were shot down in the areas surrounding the Torkham border and four other drones were downed in the mountainous border areas near Kohat, security sources said. The Pakistan Armed Forces and Pakistan Air Force demonstrated professional precision in thwarting cowardly attempts of the hostile elements to target the civilian population and public gatherings and thwart them with utmost precision, security officials said.
DPP and Retaliatory Action.
Sources said this drone raid is “incontrovertible evidence of the Afghans’ direct support, patronage and facilitation of terrorist networks that target Pakistan”.
The retaliation was heavy and intense in the Kurram area with the Pakistan Armed Forces making multiple counter-movement and targeting of the posts of Afghan Taliban regime in the Kurram sector following unprovoked, aggressive cross border firing overnight. Security forces reiterated that the armed forces are always ready and alert to protect the motherland and defend the citizens.
