Field Marshal Asim Munir Holds Important Meeting with French Secretary General for Defense and National Security Nicolas Roche at GHQ
RAWALPINDI : A high-level French delegation headed by the French Secretary General for Defense and National Security, Nicolas Roche, paid visit to General Headquarters (GHQ) in Rawalpindi and had a critical meeting with Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, the Chief of Army Staff (COAS) and Chief of Defence Forces (CDF). French Ambassador to Pakistan was also with them during the talks.
The top-level discussion emphasised a great deal on bilateral relations, regional security threat perceptions and various aspects of defence cooperation between Pakistan and France, according to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR). The two sides discussed issues of common interest and discussed possibilities for strengthening the institutional cooperation in the fields of defense and security.
Reaffirmation of Bilateral Relationships and recognition of Pakistan’s contribution.
Field Marshal Asim Munir has again affirmed Pakistan’s resolve to further strengthen bilateral relations and expand the ongoing defence cooperation with France.
The French Secretary General for Defense and National Security, in turn, noted and highly appreciated Pakistan’s continuous efforts and contributions to the region for the ongoing peace and stability. The French side also showed keen interest in expanding cooperation in different areas of common interest.
