PTI Wants to Spread Chaos and Block Roads, But Violent Mobs Will Not Be Allowed to Assemble,” Warns Information Minister Attaullah Tarar
ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar has stated that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) is planning to create general chaos across the country by blocking roads and will not tolerate any violent mobs.
During an interview with a current affairs TV show, Attaullah Tarar vowed to ensure that PTI’s next protest would also be peaceful, because in past demonstrations, security personnel have been killed and the national economy has suffered immense economic losses.
Capital Lockdown and Stance on Jamaat-e-Islami
Tarar said that currently they had containers set up on the road shoulders and more ones would be fully sealed if necessary. Jamaat-e-Islami will not be allowed to get into D-Chowk and no one of their side will be allowed to enter Islamabad, he warned.
When asked about allegations that the arrest of Khan was done on special instructions, the Information Minister did not comment on the matter. He said that the government is not allowing any deterioration in law and order in KP and PTI has brought a daily loss of Rs120 billion in the economy because of its disturbances in the province.
Medical Check-Up and Media Manipulation Concerns
In response to the reports of health from Adiala Jail, Tarar pointed out that it is the case of the sister of the PTI founder who has said he is absolutely healthy. He added that along with the medical team of the PTI, doctors from Shifa International Hospital were also present during the medical check-up of the PTI’s founder.
In addition, the Information Minister condemned the misuse of privileges of prisoners, saying no prisoner should be allowed to propagate chaos through meetings, particularly by making statements after the visit, which would be soon broadcast on hostile foreign media, including Indian media networks.
