Will Protect State Interests and Make Fuel Affordable for Citizens, Asserts Federal Petroleum Minister Ali Pervaiz Malik
LAHORE: The government will take all measures to protect national interest, while maintaining the affordable fuel for the common man as his top priority, Federal Minister for Petroleum Ali Pervaiz Malik has said.
During a media event at Lahore, Ali Pervaiz Malik pointed out that the lack of international supplies was a problem here and fuel was in extremely short supply in France where the price of diesel has risen to more than 2 euros and 40 cents. He said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif a responsible government was successfully ensuring uninterrupted supply of fuel to the people.

The Petroleum Minister said the Federal Government is making all out efforts to shield consumers from the intolerable inflationary pressures despite the critical national resource shortages.
Malik said that, keeping in mind the old pricing mechanism, petrol at that time was being sold for Rs260 and diesel for Rs270, and was not a time when the world was facing widespread shortages of supply.
