Deputy PM and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar Departs for New York to Attend 81st UNGA Session Alongside Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif

NEW YORK: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar has left for New York to attend high-level talks of the 81st UN General Assembly (UNGA).

From September 21 to 25, Ishaq Dar will be on high-level engagements with the UN in company of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif. The delegation will be representing Pakistan during the High Level week of the UNGA and will articulate Pakistan’s principled actions on various international and regional issues.

Kashmir Advocacy, OIC Meetings and Presidency of ECO Council.
During his visit, Ishaq Dar will attend the ministerial meeting of the OIC Contact Group on Kashmir and will once again raise the Kashmir issue and reiterate Pakistan’s firm moral, political and diplomatic support towards the Kashmiri people’ right to self-determination. A series of bilateral meetings with several world leaders are also planned on the sidelines.

Also, Ishaq Dar will chair the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) Council of Ministers meeting. He will also have high level bilateral interactions with PM Shehbaz Sharif and the Pakistani delegation will actively engage in the OIC Annual Coordination Meeting of Foreign Ministers.

Concentrate on the Palestine and Global health initiatives.
Ishaq Dar will also attend the meeting of the Group of 8 Arab and Islamic Nations, which will serve as a platform for him to firmly advocate for Palestinian rights and put Pakistan’s case on the global agenda regarding its humanitarian issues in the Middle East.

In addition, the delegation will participate in high-level meetings on pandemic prevention, preparedness and global health response mechanisms.
