Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif Expresses Gratitude as Foreign Exchange Reserves Surge to Historic High of $21.4 Billion

ISLAMABAD:Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has expressed profound gratitude and satisfaction over national foreign exchange reserves scaling a historic peak of $21.4 billion, attributing the milestone to the tireless efforts of the economic team and sound structural policies.

In an official statement issued following the announcement, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif declared that the historic surge in foreign exchange reserves represents yet another major stepping stone toward enduring macroeconomic stability, proving that international confidence in Pakistan’s economy is steadily returning.

Role of Remittances, Fiscal Discipline, and Capital Market Access

The Prime Minister noted that substantial improvements in overseas worker remittances and services exports, a favorable current account trajectory, and strict fiscal discipline have all played critical roles in achieving this economic milestone. He highlighted that Pakistan’s successful re-access to international capital markets stands as clear testimony to the restoration of global market trust.

“Our strengthened economic position significantly enhances our external debt servicing capacity and fortifies our resilience against global economic headwinds,” the Prime Minister stated. He added that growing international confidence will open fresh avenues for foreign direct investment across key sectors.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif specifically commended the Finance Minister, the federal economic team, and millions of overseas Pakistanis for their invaluable contributions and continuous hard work.
