NEW YORK: United States President Donald Trump has stated that a crucial decision regarding whether to launch fresh major military attacks against Iran will be determined in the near future, declaring that the conflict has reached a decisive stage.
In an interview with Axios, US President Donald Trump disclosed that Iranian officials are currently in direct communication with Washington and are actively seeking a diplomatic agreement. He added that during the upcoming United Nations General Assembly session, he will consult closely with Gulf allies regarding the next phase of the military campaign.
Consultations with Gulf Allies and Oil Blockade Claims
President Trump emphasized that his administration wants to hear the perspectives of regional partners—specifically Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Bahrain, Kuwait, and Oman—before making a final determination on future military actions against Iran.
Claiming success in restricting Iranian petroleum exports through a strategic naval blockade, the US President noted, however, that oil transit through the vital Strait of Hormuz has not been entirely choked off.
