Security Tightened Across Islamabad with Containers Placed at D-Chowk and Major Thoroughfares Ahead of Protests
ISLAMABAD: Security has been beefed up significantly since the protest call was made by the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) in the FC.
City authorities have started preparations to cordon off major roads and critical areas in the city, such as D-Chowk, ahead of the demonstrations. Heavy transport vehicles with shipping containers are already on the move to various strategic points in Islamabad.

The Islamabad administration and police have deployed huge preventative security measures that aim to keep protest marches from entering D-Chowk, with containers being set up at key points.
In addition, the deployment of security personnel has also been increased at all entry and exit points of the capital. Security is also tight around key government facilities, diplomatic enclaves and sensitive installations, while authorities are readying to cordon off key streets with containers.
