Opposition Leader Mehmood Khan Achakzai Responds to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif Regarding Election Commission Appointments
ISLAMABAD:Opposition Leader Mehmood Khan Achakzai has formally replied to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s letter on the important appointment of the Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) and two members of the Election Commission.
Sources close to the situation say Achakzai contacted the premier to seek a formal consultation meeting, specifying days and timings for deliberation regarding the constitutional appointments.

Opposition leader has developed a response after extensive discussions with prominent opposition leaders and parliamentary allies, sources said. According to the details received in the communication, the opposite chamber communicated with the Prime Minister’s Office by telephone.
On the other hand, Mehmood Khan Achakzai wrote a letter in reply that a meeting be held on in-person basis during four dates of this month. Moreover, Achakzai said that the consultative meeting could take place in the Parliament House’s Constitution Room during the presence of the Prime Minister.
