Four Suspects in Gang Rape Case Killed in Alleged Police Shootout in Peshawar
PESHAWAR: Four men were arrested for the gang rape of two women and killed in a police encounter in the suburbs of Rahman Baba in Peshawar.
Police sources said the four suspects were picked up a day earlier after reports of two women being assaulted.
Ambush and Suspect Deaths During Recovery
Police said the suspects were in the vehicle going to the scene of the crime when they were stopped by the unidentified gunmen who opened fire indiscriminately on the vehicle.
During the gun battle, all four of the arrested suspects were shot dead. Police officials said the attackers somehow managed to escape the scene as they were firing at them. A wide-ranging search effort has been initiated in the immediate vicinity to locate the rogues who ran off with the money.
