Punjab Government Approves Summary for Hiring School Teacher Interns, with Placements Expected This Week
LAHORE: The Government of Punjab has officially approved of the recruitment summary for School Teacher Interns (STIs) and deployments will be made in public sector educational institutions of the province, immediately.
The teacher interns, who were newly appointed by the Punjab Minister of Education, will officially report to the schools later this week, said the minister. The recruitment drive is mainly to address the critical shortage of teachers in government schools in the province.
Educational Tier 1, 2, and 3 Temporary Teaching Placements
The induction of the teacher interns is for a temporary period to provide teaching services and continue the academic schedule, said Education Minister Rana Sikandar Hayat.
The chosen STIs will take on the teaching at primary, elementary and secondary levels. The focus of the Teacher Interns Program is not only to address the critical shortage of teachers but also to offer meaningful teaching experience for young graduates throughout the region, the education minister added.
