Shaheen Shah Afridi Decides to Play Domestic First-Class Cricket in Pursuit of Test Squad Recall

LAHORE: Bowed by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), Star fast bowler Shaheen Shah Afridi has chosen to play for home-based players in the first-class series.

The left hander is keen to make a strong impression on red ball cricket and is looking for a ‘must’ selection to the national Test team, according to the sports reports. Significantly, Shaheen won’t be remunerated by the departmental side for his involvement.

Joining KRL for President’s Trophy Grade-1
Shaheen Shah Afridi from Khan Research Laboratories (KRL) will participate in President’s Trophy Grade-1 competition for departments, which is to start on Saturday.

Previously, selectors had excluded Shaheen from the Test squads for the West Indies and England tours, saying he had not played a lot of red-ball cricket recently.

First-Class Record
The top spinner hasn’t faced a domestic four-day game for a few years now. In 43 first class games, Shaheen has taken 166 wickets in his red-ball career to date.
