Jamaat-e-Islami Enters 20th Day of Sit-Ins and Rallies Against Petroleum Levy and Inflation

MINGORA : Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) has been continuing the nationwide protest movement and the sit-ins protesting against inflation and high petroleum levy for the last 20 days.

The campaign is continuing and Jamaat-e-Islami is holding a big public mobilisation in Mingora town of Swat where preparations have been completed. The venue is lush with party flags and the audience is packed with enthusiastic supporters, Ameer Jamaat-e-Islami Hafiz Naeem ur Rehman will address the gathering with a special speech.

Nationwide Sit-Ins and Continued Protests.
Protest sit-ins are still underway in over 15 sites in the country including big urban centres like Lahore, Peshawar, Karachi, Hyderabad, Sukkur and Chitral.

In response to the movement, Hafiz Naeem ur Rehman said that the sit-ins will carry on till the success of the negotiations with the government committee bring complete approval of the demands of the people.

Stance on Government Talks
Rehman said that dialogues with the government delegation will be a part of the process, but the sit-ins and protests will continue until the citizens’ fundamental rights are guaranteed.
