Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Announces 7 Additional Electric Buses for Sargodha
LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has informed that seven more electric buses will be provided to Sargodha to enhance the urban transport infrastructure.
The Chief Minister made the statement during a meeting with a delegation of Member Provincial Assembly (MPA) from Sargodha which visited her in Lahore.
Provincial Minister Sohaib Ahmed Malik and Mansoor Azam, Mian Sultan Ranjha, Ikram-ul-Haq, Safdar Hussain Sahi, Rana Munawar Hussain, Taimoor Ali Khan and Sardar Asim Sher Maken were among the visiting delegation.
The provincial legislators lavishly praised the Chief Minister for setting up the Nawaz Sharif Institute of Cardiology in Sargodha in record time and also for introducing electric bus service in the city, they expressed their deep gratitude for the achievements of the Chief Minister. In response, Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz announced the introduction of seven additional electric buses, and instructed the MPAs to exercise close monitoring of the exemplary village program “Suthra Punjab” and clean drinking water projects.
At the meeting, it was discussed about the plans and suggestions for fast tracking of the ongoing development projects. MPAs received positive public comments on the initiatives. The provincial legislators said that now thousands of people for their daily commute are using electric buses in Bhalwal, Bhera, Sillanwali, the University area, DHQ, Shaheenabad, Kot Momin and Sahiwal tehsil and the establishment of the cardiology institute is an unforgettable milestone. Maryam Nawaz’s welfare projects are being hailed as an international success both locally and internationally, they added.
Minister for Information and Broadcasting and Special Assistant to the Prime Minister Maryam Nawaz reiterated her government’s commitment to inclusive growth. Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif said that she feels very satisfied to see the citizens and especially the women and children riding in ease on the electric buses.
She said that Sargodha and all other cities of Punjab have been firmly placed on the trajectory of progress and all existing resources of the State are being used for facilitating the people. Reaffirming her government’s prime policy she said that development in each and every nook of Punjab without giving any discrimination is the vision of Nawaz Sharif.
