OGDCL Successfully Develops Bobi-11 Well in Sanghar, Expecting 1,000 Barrels of Oil Daily

OGDCL’s Fully Owned Bobi-11 Well Expected to Produce Nearly 1,000 Barrels of Oil and 1 MMSCFD of Gas Daily

ISLAMABAD: The Oil and Gas Development Company Limited (OGDCL) has made a significant breakthrough in Pakistan’s energy sector by successfully developing a well at Bobi-11 in Sanghar district of Sindh.

The state-owned exploration giant says the fully-owned Bobi-11 well will produce about 1,000 barrels of oil a day and 1.1 million standard cubic feet (MMSCFD) of natural gas a day. The company officials pointed out that the information and the technical insights obtained from the subsurface data of the previous Bobi Deep-1 discovery were crucial in efficiently generating the drilling plans and execution for the Bobi-11 drilling.

The oil field Bobi is 100% owned by OGDCL, and this latest milestone will thus greatly bolster confidence in the large hydrocarbon potential of the area, thereby providing new opportunities for additional resources to be expanded and developed. Bobi-11’s success has been regarded as a crucial step towards Pakistan’s efforts to strengthen its hydrocarbon production capabilities.

The new well will complement local production, reducing the need for imports, alleviating the economic burden of imported energy, and enhancing energy security.
