Major Breakthrough in Pak-China Trade, Investment, and Business Cooperation
BEIJING: The efforts for the promotion of bilateral trade, investment and business cooperation have yielded remarkable results between Pakistan and China.
The 5th Pakistan Investment and Business Environment Exchange Forum 2026 was successfully held in Guangzhou, China, bringing together stakeholders to explore new avenues for economic partnership, bilateral trade, and joint investments.
Key Highlights and Signing of Memorandums of Understanding and similar documents
The event included in-depth policy discussions, project presentations, industrial contracts, B2B events and special product exhibitions. Signing of five memorandums of understanding (MoUs) in vital business areas like electric vehicles (EVs), battery manufacturing, construction materials, furniture, pine nuts and medical and business tourism were a major highlight of the forum.
Issues were also discussed during the forum, and the mutual commitment to further enhancing economic cooperation between Pakistan and China in the current context of 75 years of diplomatic relations between the two nations was affirmed. In addition, participants identified potential opportunities for cooperation in the field of industry and infrastructure under the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) known as the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).
Investing in a wide range of investment areas
The forum highlighted investment opportunities in various areas such as energy, ecommerce, building materials, furniture, and food processing.
The trade tie-ups, foreign investments and changing business dynamics between the two countries are continuing to give new thrust to the bilateral economic cooperation.
