Election Commission Delists Tehreek-e-Ittehad and Freedom Movement
ISLAMABAD:The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has struck off two other political parties from its register due to their failure to hold intra-party elections and abide by other statutory requirements for conducting regulatory elections.
Election Commission said both political parties have been struck off the official electoral register for persistent non-compliance to the electoral laws and failure to perform some of the election administration requirements.
Fulfilling the requirements for Compliance and ECP Action.
The ECP reaffirmed that, in the current electoral process, it was mandatory for all registered political parties to observe timely intra-party elections and all legal procedures. As a consequence of their failure to maintain this order formal action was taken against Tehreek-e-Ittehad and Freedom Movement.
The Election Commission has upheld “de-registered” the two political groups in a formal move.
