Muslim Countries Should Rely on Their Own Capabilities for Security Instead of Foreign Powers: Qalibaf
TEHRAN: Muslim countries need to rely on their own powers and mutual cooperation to ensure security instead of relying on foreign powers, Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf has said.
The Iranian parliament speaker said that the establishment of new regional agreements marks the beginning of a new era in the region, and called on the Muslim countries to secure their security by collective efforts and mutual cooperation within them.

The Iranian speaker said that unity and cooperation among Muslim countries have been manifesting tremendous positive effects in the recent history, which has clearly shown how solidarity has been a key factor in challenging the efforts of the enemies to achieve regional dominance.
Emerging regional pacts are important not only from the perspective of security, but from the perspective of the collective future of the region as well, said Qalibaf and added that Muslim countries should reinforce their cooperation for protecting their mutual interests, national sovereignty, and regional peace.
The speaker of Iran’s parliament, who previously called for lowering regional nations’ reliance on foreign forces to maintain security, added that they can take advantage of their potential to create a security system which is independent of outside intervention.
