Newly Elected AJK Prime Minister Iftikhar Gilani Takes Oath of Office

MUZAFFARABAD: Newly elected Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) Prime Minister Barrister Iftikhar Gilani has formally taken the oath of office.

In a formal swearing ceremony, acting AJK President Chaudhry Tariq Farooq administered the oath to the newly elected premier.

Acknowledge and invite community involvement in turning things around.
Following the oath-taking ceremony, the Prime Minister, Iftikhar Gilani addressed the Azad Kashmir Legislative Assembly where he voiced his deep gratitude to Prime Minister of Pakistan Shehbaz Sharif, the Quaid of the PML-N, Nawaz Sharif and Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz.

He said, “I am grateful to party leadership and all the people for entrusting me with the office of Prime Minister, to make Azad Kashmir a beacon of development and prosperity, all of us must move forward together.

The newly elected Prime Minister also added that the government would need cooperation and support of all members of the Legislative Assembly to fulfil its development goals, promising that it would strive to work in tandem with all the members for the good of Azad Kashmir.
