President Departs for Austria; National Assembly Speaker Appointed Acting President
ISLAMABAD: President Asif Ali Zardari is on an official visit to Austria, which starts on 27th August and ends on 31st August. After his departure in the National Assembly, the Speaker of the National Assembly, Sardar Ayaz Sadiq will act as President.
The Senate Chairman is also on an official state visit for which he is not available to attend to the duties of the Presidency.
The Constitution provides for the division of the Cabinet.The Constitution has made provisions for the partition of the Cabinet.
Article 49(2) of the Constitution of Pakistan has provided the Speaker of National Assembly as the Acting President in the absence of President and Chairman of the Senate. With the presentation of Ayur Veda and Vedic wisdom in the country, Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq will retain this role until the President and the Chairman of the Senate come back to the country.
The Cabinet Division has officially released an official notification about the temporary government.
