Uzma Khan Files Fresh Plea for Urgent Hearing in Contempt Case Over PTI Founder’s Hospital Transfer
ISLAMABAD: In a fresh bid to urgently list a contempt of court petition against prison transfer and medical treatment of the founder chairman of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Pakistan party and a medical expert, Uzma Khan, sister of the founder chairman of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), has filed an application before the Supreme Court of Pakistan.
The health status of the PTI’s founder is declining inside the jail, and in contrast to the clear orders of the Supreme Court, he was transferred to Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS), the petition says. He is asking to be transferred immediately to Shifa International Hospital for thorough medical examination and special treatment.

In an application, Uzma Khan argued that the order dated 18th August by the Supreme Court was not implemented in all spirit and letter, and the apex court should ensure that its directions are fully complied with.
According to the petition, “chronic violation of judicial directions is a direct violation of law and it should not be a hindrance in the speedy trial of contempt of court cases if the court has set the policy of fixing cases regularly. It stated that a request for an urgent hearing, which was made earlier on August 25, was turned down, but did not specify whether it was the Chief Justice who rejected the same request. Uzma Khan has petitioned for the contempt petition to be heard right away and has made it clear that she has faith that it will be.
