“We Will Not Play Politics on the Health of the PTI Founder”: Abid Sher Ali

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Senator Abid Sher Ali has said that the government will not do politics over the health of the jailed founder of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insafiat (PTI) and will pray for his speedy recovery, while saying that “humanitarian issues cannot be kept aside as political opposition”.

During an interview on the Dunya News programme, “Baat Niklegi,” Abid Sher Ali explained that the hospital was targeted for political reasons and that security measures around the hospital were disrupted, noting that dealing with large groups of party workers is difficult. He said that the measures of the government related to medical access and security shouldn’t be a matter of dispute.

Contents of PTI’s Contempt Petition and Jail Regulations criticized.
The Senator said Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) contempt of court petition was incomprehensible, as the President or Prime Minister and the federal government cannot be directly linked to routine administrative compliance issues.

He also emphasized that the prison administration has to comply with the rules and regulations provided in the jail manuals and as per the law.
