Government Increases Petrol and Diesel Prices Again
ISLAMABAD: Again the Federal government has raised the price of petrol and high-speed diesel throughout the country. Petrol has been increased by Rs 3.81 per litre and high-speed diesel (HSD) rate has been increased by Rs 3.59 per litre as per a notification issued by the Petroleum Division of the Ministry of Energy.
After the hike, the new price of petrol is Rs 341.59 per litre and for high-speed diesel, it is Rs 368.29 per litre. The new rates went into effect immediately and will be in effect Aug. 22 – Aug. 24.
According to official sources, these changes are based on the government’s new pricing of petroleum products, and the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) adjusted ex-depot prices accordingly. The volatile prices are likely to put further strain on transport and logistics as well as consumer goods.
